The St. Lawrence River Guide service has access to a 40 mile run of the river.
The most westerly end is the town of Massena, New York and home to New York’s Moses-Saunders Power Dam. While all the way to the east, 40 miles down stream is Beauharnois, Quebec the home of Hydro-Quebec Power Plant.
The St. Lawrence River Guide is indigenous owned and operated, and because of that we are not subject to the fishing laws of New York state, or the provinces of Ontario or Quebec. Our waters are governed by the Mohawk tribe of Akwesasne and its compliance officers. We are one of very few tribally licensed guide services. Booking with us grants you permission to fish in our ancestral waters during closed seasons of New York, Ontario, and Quebec.
We practice catch and release on most trips, however if you are looking to harvest some fish for your family, that is not a problem. Catch limits will adhere to tribal regulations. We value our resources greatly, and we want nothing more than for the population of fish to continue to grow for future generations.
There is NO need for you to go out and buy any type of fishing license prior to your trip!! Your captain has fishing licenses for each guest on the trip FREE of charge to you!!

We have 6 massive tributary river systems that drain into our section of the St. Lawrence River.
1. The Grass River; runs from the foothills of the Adirondack mountains totalling over 70 miles.
2. The Raquette River; this is the third longest river in New York state, stretching an astonishing 146 miles.
3. The Saint Regis River; 86 miles of drainage system for most of northern and upstate New York .
4. Salmon River; drainage to Mountain View lake in the easterly section of the Adirondacks.
5. Raisin River of south Stormont, located in eastern Ontario.
6. Riviere-Beaudette; the last of our tributary rivers borders Quebec and Ontario.
All of our tributary rivers combine for an amazing natural fish hatchery, as well as an abundant source of bait species, which intern grow the largest fish along the St. Lawrence River.
This is truly one of the best fresh water fisheries in the world.
We also have to thank, even though at times we would actually like to exterminate...the ROUND GOBY.
They were introduced to the St. Lawrence River and the Great Lakes in the early 1990s.
It is believed that the Round Goby came in the ballast water from a European ship. The Round Goby is native to the black and asian seas in Europe.
They can surely be pests during the spawning months since they love to feast on eggs in unprotected fish beds. But, during the summer and fall months, that's when the larger fish will get their revenge and engulf their stomachs full of Round Goby’s.
A handful of Round Goby's make a very hearty meal to our native fish and keep them nice and healthy.
The current that flows in from lake Ontario and all of our tributary rivers is packed with nutrient rich water to keep a healthy population of all species.
